Jo Scott-B


  • Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jo was at school with daughters of Peron’s generals, learning early the value of discretion.
  • Moving to Peru before the revolution, she later went to high school in Ottawa,ON.
  • Back in Lima, Jo was fascinated by pre-Inca textile and pottery designs, working with archaeologists exploring the mysteries of the Incas.
  • Studied art in Peru, Argentina and UK
  • Moved to Canada in 1965
  • A City of Vancouver Heritage Award for her paintings of Old Grocery Stores 1989
  • Appointed to The Heritage Advisory Commission for the City of Vancouver for four in 1990s
    -Artist in residence at Gulf of Georgia Cannery, a national historic site;
  • wrote an article on The Iron Chink, a salmon canning machine in BC History Magazine
  • An Award from the City of Kelowna for her painting of their floral emblem
